Neurodiversity Supervision and Consultation for Professionals
I provide ad hoc consultation or supervision around neurodiversity for counsellors, therapists, mental health practitioners, education professionals and others. I offer a particular focus on autism and ADHD, as well as the neurodiversity paradigm and connected concepts.
Many people are happy with their existing supervisor but may feel they would like extra supervision when it comes to neurodiversity issues.
Increased awareness of neurodiversity means that more and more clients are recognising or exploring their own neurodivergence, and there has been a particular surge in awareness of autism and ADHD. Issues that are common for neurodivergent people are not covered in most counselling training, or in many other professional roles. Working in standard neuronormative ways may halt work with the client and become harmful to their progress.
I offer ad hoc consultation to support with neurodiversity questions related to your client or education work, or general discussion around the neurodiversity paradigm. You must also have regular supervision in place if required by your role. I am unable to offer emergency consultation but will endeavour to meet with you as soon as possible when requested. Risk and safeguarding remain the responsibility of you and your existing supervisor or manager as applicable.
I hold a Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision of Psychological Therapies Practice from the University of Exeter. I am DBS checked, ICO registered, and hold professional insurance. I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
Consultation is available in multiples of 30 minute blocks, at a cost of £40 per block.
I also provide regular free resources and link to others to help professionals to meet the needs of their neurodivergent clients.
